Palestra Online divulga oportunidades de estudo e bolsas na Holanda
Programa de bolsas do governo holandês tem vagas para quem já está no mercado de trabalho e parceria com o governo brasileiro garante opções para estudantes de graduação.
Destino europeu ainda pouco explorado pelos brasileiros, a Holanda está de braços abertos para receber estudantes de todas as partes do globo. Listado pelo ranking da revista Times como o terceiro melhor sistema educacional do mundo, o ensino superior holandês possui cerca de 1700 cursos ministrados em inglês em todas as áreas de conhecimento.
Os custos modestos e a facilidade na obtenção do visto são outros pontos que contam a favor do país “A própria universidade faz os trâmites do visto estudantil, o que facilita muito a vida do intercambista” explica Remon Daniel Boef, diretor do Nuffic Neso Brazil, escritório que representa o ensino superior holandês no Brasil. Mantida e financiada pelo próprio governo, a educação superior holandesa oferece anuidades baixas, em comparação com outros destinos tradicionais de estudo. Existem opções de cursos de mestrado, por exemplo, com um ano de duração, a partir de 7.500 Euros por ano. Mesmo assim é possível participar dos programas de bolsas de estudos oferecidos pelo governo holandês e pelas próprias universidades.
Uma das opções é o Netherlands Fellowship Programme. Voltado para profissionais de meio de carreira, o NFP oferece cursos de curta duração, programas de mestrado e doutorado-sanduíche. Para concorrer à bolsa, o candidato precisa de uma indicação do seu empregador, que deve deixar claro que a formação terá impacto na produtividade do profissional e da empresa. A pesquisadora Emly Costa concluiu mestrado em Planejamento Urbano na Erasmus University Rotterdam por meio da bolsa, que cobriu todos os custos referentes às anuidades acadêmicas, livros e passagens aéreas - inclusive das viagens ao Brasil durante o curso para trabalho em Campo.
Para quem ainda está dando os primeiros passos na carreira, é possível tentar uma das bolsas de graduação-sanduíche ofertadas pelo programa Ciência sem Fronteiras. A iniciativa do governo brasileiro está com inscrições abertas até o dia 25 de janeiro para diversos países, mas somente na cooperação com a Holanda os estudantes aprovados têm liberdade para escolher em qual universidade desejam estudar. Para concorrer, é preciso ser brasileiro, estar matriculado em um curso de nível superior em uma das áreas prioritárias do programa, haver cumprido entre 20% e 90% do currículo do curso e se comprometer, após a conclusão da graduação, a permanecer no Brasil por um período equivalente ao dobro da duração do curso no exterior.
Medical Sciences Programs at the University of Groningen

Many thanks for your interest in the medical sciences programs at the University of Groningen (RUG), the Netherlands within the Brazilian Science without Borders Holland program. In order to be able to assess your request, we will first explain a little about the medical curriculum at Dutch universities, and RUG in particular.
In the (bio)medical sciences we offer possibilities for (1) students in year 1-3/4 who want to do coursework and a limited selection of clinical clerkships in the International Bachelor Medicine; and (2) excellent advanced students (in year 4-5-6 of their undergraduate program) passionate about research.
Since the implementation of the Bologna process in Europe, the medical curriculum has been divided into an undergraduate – bachelor – program of three years and master program, also of three years. The clinical work is done in the master’s phase and is in Dutch, because of the communication with patients (the national language in The Netherlands after all is still Dutch). The bachelor program however is taught in English and allows for international students who do not speak Dutch. More information about the bachelor you may find here.
Consequently, in case you only wish to do clinical work, you unfortunately are not admissible. If you are a student however in year 1-3/4 of your bachelor, you may be eligible for an exchange. This exchange in some cases may be combined with a clinical clerkship in selected areas. There is only a limited number of places available for exchange students in the International Bachelor Medicine. The blocks 2.1 (start September), 2.2 (November), 2.3 (February), 2.4 (May); 3.2 (November) and 3.3 (February) are open to exchange students. We will collect all applications and make a decision on the students who can be admitted in the final week of April.
In case you are an excellent advanced student (year 4-5-6 of your undergraduate degree) interested in research (in the future you wish to continue your studies in a Research Master program or a MD/PhD program), we may have some options for you in our English-language research master programs.
1. The very selective Research Master programs Medical and Pharmaceutical Drug Innovation (MPDI) and Clinical and Psychosocial Epidemiology (CPE). It is possible to take the first year of these programs, for an overview of courses see here for MPDI and here for CPE.
In case you would like to apply for an exchange in either MPDI or CPE, please send your List of Grades, CV (in English), Letter of Motivation, proof of English proficiency and two letters of reference to Joyce Fongers, j.e.fongers@rug.nl. In case you are in the process of collecting required documentation, you may already send us the documents you have readily available, in any case however your list of grades, CV and letter of motivation.
2. The research master programs Medical Pharmaceutical Sciences (MPS) and Biomedical Engineering (BME). In case you are not eligible for MPDI, you may be eligible for either MPS or BME. These programs are less selective, but still offer a broad range of courses for students interested in (bio)medical /pharmaceutical research.
